We got up today and (creatures of habit) went for breakfast at our usual location. I had a chassou aux pommes, which tasted exactly like warm apple pie. Chad had a pain aux raisins and a mini croissant. We ate in the park, and then took the metro to Montmartre.
We walked around for a bit and passed the famous landmarks such as the Moulin Rouge.
Then we moved on to Sacre Coeur, where we climbed the dome for great views down over the city.
Next we took the metro to Pere Lachaise cemetery, and found Jim Morrison’s grave.
We bought sandwiches at a little bakery, and then took the metro out to Roland Garros. We walked around the grounds for a while, even getting onto center court at Philippe Chatrier (since it was deserted).
We walked back through the Bois du Boulange, passing a petanque league on the way.
I was hungry again, so I got a cheese and veggie baguette, and Chad got a panini stuffed with hot dogs and melted cheese. And at another bakery we stopped by, we got a pear and chocolate dessert which was delicious!
We took a short break back at the hotel, and then walked down to the Louvre after 6 p.m. to take advantage of the evening rate. We saw the Mona Lisa/La Joconde, Venus de Milo, and the Egyptian galleries. Since museums are not really our thing, two hours there was plenty for us.
We walked back up the Champs-Elysses, stopping for a late night snack.
Our feet were killing us by this point, so we headed back to the hotel and went to bed.
