Today was a lazy day, at least for me. Chad was sick last night, we think due to the sausage he had for dinner. But he was back to feeling well this morning, so he got up and hiked to the train bridge while I caught some extra sleep. When he came back, we went for a swim and then loaded up at our last breakfast buffet.
We checked out of the hotel and got some snacks at the grocery store, then got on the train out of Zermatt.
We took the Glacier Express to Visp, then transferred to a regular train to Martigny, and then transferred to the Mont Blanc Express as far as Le Chatelard-Frontier, and back onto a regular train to Chamonix.
The transfers were very quick and all of the trains ran on time.
We checked into our Chamonix hotel, Le Morgane, and then went out to explore.
Chamonix is much larger than Zermatt and is spread out quite a distance along the valley.
We were both hungry, so we went to Le Bartavel for some wood-fired pizza. After that, we continued our walk, and went down to the airfield where we watched dozens of parapenters come in for a landing.
We were both tired, so we called it an early night.
